About the event

South Woodford-based sonic artist Andrew Booker presents a one-day randomised ambient music installation at the Engine House, Walthamstow Wetlands on Sunday 02 February 2025 (what3words ///daily.quick.drip)

Randomatones are an ongoing musical sonic art project by software developer and musician Andrew Booker. In this installation, a number of loudspeakers of different shapes and sizes will hang from the steel gantries in the Turbine Room and play slow-moving musical sounds at random. The loudspeakers will be lit with LEDs gently flickering with the sounds.

The Walthamstow Wetlands Engine House is a perfect setting for the Randomatones. The tranquil sounds echoing around their indoor space promise to provide an peaceful complement and counterpoint to the wintery reservoirs outside.

This unique one-day installation is free to visit and and open between 10:30am and 3:30pm. Sit and relax, listen and watch, perhaps with a cup of tea from the cafe. You may well find the artist settled in a corner with a book.

*You can join/leave the event at any time between 10.30am and 3.30pm.
