About the event

World Wetlands Day is an environmentally related celebration, which started in the 1970's following the first Ramsar Convention. The Convention was set up to protect Wetlands of International Importance - our very own Walthamstow Wetlands is protected under the Ramsar Convention!

Come and explore the reserve on a guided tour to learn about the heritage of the area, the diverse habitats around the site and some of the wildlife that can be seen. Discover why wetlands are so important, the different types and the threats they are facing.

This is a gentle tour around the reserve on paths - there may be some gentle inclines so strong stout footwear is recommended. The tour will last approximately 1.5hrs and will be fully outdoors - so dress for the weather! If you have binoculars bring them along, but it’s not essential.

This event is for over 18s and children over 12 accompanied by an adult. Further information will be sent out prior to the event.

Donations to London Wildlife Trust are welcome. All profits are invested into London Wildlife Trust’s conservation and education work and the care of its nature reserves.
