About the event

When and why was the Engine House built? Who was the architect who designed this magnificent Victorian building? What was the purpose of each room in the Engine House? How has the Coppermill Tower's use changed over the years since first mentioned in 1066?

As part Open City's Open House Festival 2024, come and find the answers to these questions and much more about our visitor centre and Grade II listed Coppermill Tower building, on a guided walk led by one of our knowledgeable and friendly guides.

This tour will begin in the Engine House, followed by a walk through the south side of the reserve to Coppermill Tower, and back to the visitor centre. Some of the paths around the reserve may be at a gentle incline, and we recommend comfortable footwear.

This walk is aimed at over 18s, but people aged 12 and above are welcome, when accompanied by an adult.

Please book your space through the Open City website (full programme and booking 21 August).
