About the event

Did you know there are 18 species of bats in the UK? Join us to find out which of these marvelous creatures can be spotted flying over Walthamstow Wetlands at night.

Join our Visitor Engagement Officer, Lora, at this afternoon workshop for beginners, consisting of an indoor presentation on bats' ecology, diets, habitats and threats, followed by an outdoor practical session. We will be creating bat boxes to be installed around the reserve in order to help us monitor which species have made Walthamstow Wetlands their home.

The practical element of the workshop will take place outdoors, so please dress for the weather. Personal Protective Equipment, tools and instructions will be given before the practical session. There may be some kneeling and crouching. No experience necessary.

This event is aimed at adults over 18. Further information will be sent out prior to the event.
