Wassail Day at the Village Orchard Dulwich
About the event
Celebrate Wassail Day with us on Saturday 18th January.
London Wildlife Trust welcomes the local community to awaken the apple trees to ensure a good harvest of fruit in autumn in a traditional Wassailing event.
Activities on the day will include apple inspired crafts, bird feeders, warming bread on the fire (weather permitting), pinning toast to trees (this apparently helps with a good harvest!) and more!
There will be a tour of the orchard at 12.30pm, live music from local folk band Larkin the Woods from 2.00 - 3.00pm. Refreshments will be available to purchase.
If the weather has been wet in the weeks leading up to the event, we would advise wearing wellies or sturdy footwear as the ground can get VERY muddy!
This event is free but donations are welcome. All profits are invested into London Wildlife Trust’s conservation and education work and the care of its nature reserves. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
