About the event
Come join the London Wildlife Trust team at Walthamstow Wetlands to help us plant 15 new fruit trees in the newly created orchard on the north side of the reserve! Learn how to plant fruit trees, secure them with tree guards and learn about how their growth will be monitored and managed. All training and equipment are provided on the day.
Thank you to Thames Water who made this project possible by preparing the ground for planting and donating the fruit trees.
Tasks will include:
- Tree planting
- Securing tree guards around trees
- Mulching
Facilities
- There are toilets and a cafe in the Engine House
- Carpark and a bike rack next to the Engine House
Please note this event is for 18+ only.
When you attend the session, all attendees will be required to fill in a 'One day volunteer registration form' and provide details such as an emergency contact and declaring any health conditions to ensure you are best supported throughout the session.
