Housing Associations and Other Institutions

London Wildlife Trust Consultancy offers a range of professional ecological services to both public and private sector clients.

Our purpose is aligned with that of London Wildlife Trust, namely, to embed wildlife-rich green spaces and green infrastructure into the built environment to enhance the city’s ecology, and to support local communities to better understand and care for the natural environment. We are not-for-profit.

Ecological services we offer:

Preliminary Ecological Appraisal

We can undertake an assessment to advise you on the ecological context including the constraints and opportunities for your project.  We will advise you on the feasibility of delivering a project that delivers for people and wildlife and which is consistent with the purpose of London Wildlife Trust.

Developing a Vision

We work with you to build a strong and coherent ecological narrative for your project. We guide early visioning work to protect existing ecology where possible, then create and enhance a mosaic of habitats and connect green infrastructure across the development and beyond its boundaries.

Concept Design and Masterplanning

We can advise on development principles and layout design that help meet the ecological objectives of the vision to integrate the new development into the local ecological network and help contribute to a ‘Nature Recovery’ framework

Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments

In line with the requirements of national legislation and regional policy , we can complete assessments for Biodiversity Net Gain and advise on the relationship between Biodiversity Net Gain and the Urban Greening Factor and how these can be mutually supporting.

Stakeholder/Community Engagement

We can support you engage with community groups and other stakeholders to broker consensus for the scheme bringing our significant expertise and networks together for the benefit of all parties.

Land management

We can advise on managing land to conserve and enhance biodiversity with our specialist expertise of nature conservation in urban environments.
