Green Schools for the Greenway

The London Wildlife Trust, with support from the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation, is running a programme of Key Stage 1 and 2 curriculum linked outdoor education sessions on the Greenway, with the brand new View Tube as our base and the magnificent Olympic Park as our backdrop.

The classroom has space for 30 students and accompanying staff. Situated on the first floor of a specially constructed centre looking directly into the Olympic Park, it has a panoramic view of the Stadium and the Aquatic Centre. The View Tube is a short walking distance from Pudding Mill Lane Docklands Light Railway (DLR). There are toilet facilities and a café on-site, where packed lunches can be ordered or bicycle hire for an additional cost.

A number of options are available to teachers and education groups:

• Taught courses. 2 hour sessions led by London Wildlife Trust View Tube education staff £80 subsidised/£160 unsubsidised (see download below for activities available).

• Self taught courses. 1 hour sessions which are self led by visiting teachers, but supported by London Wildlife Trust View Tube resources and handouts.

• Hire for education groups. The classroom will also be available for hire during twilight and weekend sessions

• The Field Studies Council will be running education sessions for secondary schools
