We are the foremost organisation protecting wildlife in the capital and we have an exciting vision for the future. In our future wildlife is valued by all in the capital and Londoners play an active part in looking after it. We think our city and people deserve a future like this and we believe we are the organisation to achieve it. As a membership charity, based in the communities of London, our members give us the independence to work for all wildlife and all Londoners.
London Wildlife Trust is one of 47 Wildlife Trusts which form a nationwide network of local nature conservation charities. At the London Wildlife Trust we believe our capital is a great place for wildlife. But we think it could be even better.
Together we take action to protect the UK's natural world in town and country. The Wildlife Trusts care for almost 2,500 nature reserves. The partnership campaigns for the protection of wildlife and invests in the future by helping people of all ages to gain a greater appreciation and understanding of nature. With the support of over 400,000 members across the country, the Wildlife Trusts are helping it to flourish again.
"The Wildlife Trusts play a very important part in protecting our natural heritage. I would encourage anyone who cares about wildlife to join them."
Sir David Attenborough
Vice-president, The Wildlife Trusts.
Following widespread consultations with members, volunteers, staff and partner organisations, London Wildlife Trust has published a vision for our future; Making London Wild details our goals upto 2010.
